Night and sports mouthguards | American Fork Dental Center

A mouthguard is a protective device for the mouth that covers the teeth and gums to prevent and reduce injury to the teeth, arches, lips and gums. A mouthguard is most often used to prevent injury in contact sports, as a treatment for bruxism or TMD, or as part of certain dental procedures, such as tooth bleaching. Depending on application, it may also be called a mouth protector, mouth piece, gumshield, gumguard, nightguard, occlusal splint, bite splint, or bite plane.

"My wife came home raving about these people and told me I had to leave a review. Did a great job of diagnosing her problem and making recommendations as well as being honest about expensive procedures she wanted and didn't need. Couldn't recommend hire."
- Scott G, September 2023
"I just moved up to Salt Lake but I’m going to keep coming here. I haven’t had to have any work (fillings, etc.) done, so I can’t speak to that, but it’s been my best experience with a dentist/hygienist ever (shout-out to Autumn!)"
- Eric Larsen, March 2023
"We can t say enough good about this office! Autumn did a phenomenal job on all of my kids and myself! I was really in a bind with insurance changing and Dr. Rosvall called me back even though the office was closed and found a way to fit us all in before leaving for our trip and insurance ended. So grateful for their honest and diligent work. Look forward to many more years with this office;)"
- Jocelyn Egbert, January 2022
"They're AMAZING! They're really great about getting you in and working with all the options! I had a situation where one of my crowned teeth had to pulled. They got me a dentures that helped it look normalish. Then my teeth got loose so they helped me with getting a bridge. And let me tell you, I almost cried while looking at a full smile again. And I can't stop smiling now. I would go in just to sit in their lobby. It's comforting and soothing."
- Kir Fowler, May 2025
"If you are the type of person who relies on reviews before making a decision on a great dentisit, then look no further! Dr. Rosvall and his staff go over and beyond to make sure you're well taken care of. Having a very traumatic experience as a child, back in the 60's, put my fear of dentists over the top. Dr. Rosvall has seen it all I'm sure but he made sure he addressed my fears and concerns in such a gental manner. I can't recommend these wonderful people enough "
- Barbara Lester, February 2022

- Mike Prince, June 2020
